There are many factors that contribute to the increase of unproductive time that an organization spends during a working day. Trying to find people, trying to find data, misunderstandings, information flow, lack of understanding, lack of coordination are some of the common ones. But one thing that The WorkSpear Project believes is that many of these factors can be removed with the correct application of technology.

We have created an integrated collaboration environment that is accessible across the web and mobile devices. The collaboration environment allows members of an organization to create appropriate organizational structures and then to facilitate sharing, communication, and coordination activities between and within those structures.

Supporting the collaboration environment is an organizational database. This database holds key data points that have been observed during the collaboration of an organization‘s members as they carry out work. These data points are analyzed and converted into organizational knowledge which is then used to determine who should do what and when to achieve an organizations objectives.

Underpinning the above is our adaptive workflow engine. The engine has the ability to move from structured to ad hoc operations when deemed necessary and to move from automated to manual operations when appropriate. Other workflow engines only allow a “one way”flow of control (ad hoc to structured, manual to automated). However it has been shown that workflow needs to be more flexible than that. The ability for our workflow engine to adapt depending upon current circumstances within the organization allows for optimum work performance to be achieved.
